I took last Thursday off, so I'm ending a four-day weekend today.  It's been simply wonderful.  We got some things done that needed doing, such as selling my old car, and I studied for the CPA exam.  I have baked things (orange berry muffins for breakfast, and there's bread dough resting on the counter now). tegyrius and I had a couple of picnics, even!   ( Read more... )

Getting back, slowly, into running.  Tendonitis sucks, man.  The problem with this particular sort (iliopsoas tendonitis) is that it doesn't hurt while I'm running; it only hurts afterwards.  Therefore, it's hard to know if I'm overdoing it.  Today I ran for 3/4 mile, walked for 1/4, ran 3/4, walked 1/4, and then ran another 1/4.  About 30 minutes ( Read more... )

Not a huge fan of the LiveJournal redesign.  I used to be able to get to my filtered friends view in about two clicks, and now it takes several more.  At least I found it - for a couple of days I couldn't figure out how to get to friends at all, which seems counterproductive for a social site ( Read more... )

It's an amazing thing to have a day off when you haven't had one in a month!  It's been a fantastic day, and mainly just because I got to spend the whole day with my hubby.  I haven't been able to hang out with him in FAR too long.  Tax season will be over in one more month, and then we can get back to some semblance of a normal life.  But for ( Read more... )

It's been sort of crazy weather around here lately.  And by crazy, I mean, "Go home, mother nature, you're drunk."  We've had the below zero temps.  We've had three inches of snow with 30 mph winds.  We've had 55 degrees and sunny.  And that's just in the last two days.  (Not kidding.)

The weather, as one would expect, has put a bit of a halt to our regular runs.  We may be really into this running thing, but no sane person goes out with the wind chills we've been having lately.  (The actual temp hit 8 below zero the other night, and wind chills were 20 below and more.)( More about running... )
