Captain Planet, early evening, 24th? spandexisyouth May 26 2011, 03:09:37 UTC
Gai was headed home after work, working on figuring out what errands he needed to run this evening and tomorrow to finish getting their home re-set for three people when he caught sight of Krile up ahead. Oh good. He hadn't seen her in a few days and he liked to run into his friends.

"Krile! How are you this evening? It is looking like a very good evening, even if it is a little rainy. You will have something warm to eat at home?" Soup would be good. He could see if they had any, or could make any. "You are welcome to come by if you would like!"

The only thing that Princess--as she had decided to call herself after writing to that person in the magic book--heard at first was Kupo! Which was rather familiar, but why was this man calling her that? He seemed to know her...

Well that was good! She'd been wandering around for a few hours, but had ended up back here in her circuit of the bridges. She hadn't tried the elevator yet. "Hello!" she said with a friendly smile. "Um... is my name Kupo? I haven't been able to remember a thing all day."

"Your name is Kupo? When did your name be--" Not able to remember. So it was spreading again. "No, your name is not Kupo. I am guessing that you cannot hear your name, like I could not when I forgot, a few weeks ago."

Gai paused for a moment, trying to figure out how to address this correctly. "Are you calling yourself something?" Fred had picked something new this time, so Krile might have. "Otherwise, for a time you went by the name of Cara. I do not know what meaning that had to you, I am sorry. But I am sure that if you have picked something new it is fine and fitting!"

There was a lot to cover if she'd forgotten everything. Gai wasn't sure where to start, and then he realized there was one rather important thing to cover first. "I am Gai. I am one of your many friends here. You are in Edensphere. Everyone here has forgotten their past, but some have re-forgotten it and that is all right because there are many here who will help you and others out."

"...You just said my name was Kupo again," Princess said with a giggle. "But I guess there's some magic that keeps me from hearing that, too. Until that goes away, I'll stick with Princess."

Gai. The name didn't sound familiar in the least, but she wouldn't have expected it to. It was a little unsettling to know that amnesia was that common here... but if there were that many people, it didn't sound so bad. A person didn't need memories to be who they were. "It's nice to meet you again, Gai!" She looked behind him at the enormous tree. "So--why did this happen? Please don't tell me we all got hit over the head." She said that with a bit of a grin.

Captain Planet, 24th, afternoon sometime? notpissedoff May 26 2011, 04:06:35 UTC
It was dreary and - in Rain's opinion - generally miserable out, and he would very much have preferred to be inside and dry, like the rest of the sensible people were right now... however, the dog needed to be walked regardless of the weather. Walking the dog, to him, basically meant that Taichou ran around as he pleased while Rain followed at his own pace, but he had held out a faint hope that the mutt wouldn't lead him all the way out to the park today. No such luck, apparently.

So as Taichou frolicked through the mud - ugh, great - Rain stood stoically by himself a considerable distance off, half-watching, his damp hair sticking to the sides of his face and dripping onto his shoulders, the occasional water droplet running off the end of his nose. He was a little surprised to catch sight of Krile; he couldn't really fathom why anyone would come to the park in the rain, barring being dragged out here by a needy pet.

Princess noticed the dog before the person--quite a cheerful-looking animal bounding around in the mud. She couldn't help but giggle. Even if she was lost and couldn't remember anything but a single strange vision, it really wasn't possible not to be cheered up by the sight of a happy dog. "Hey there, boy. Having fun?"

When she walked closer to pet him, she saw the decidedly less-happy fellow standing and watching. "Hello!" Princess called, waving. Did he know what this place was? "Is this your dog?"

Taichou took Krile's words as an invitation to trot delightedly over to her, tongue lolling and tail wagging, and Rain kept a close eye on him, ready to rebuke him if he tried to jump up on her. Krile seemed like the type to get along with animals, but that didn't mean she needed a wet dog getting muddy pawprints all over her clothes. Taichou behaved though, stopping in front of her with a happy bark, and when Krile called to him, Rain slowly strode over to join her.

"Yes," he answered once he had nearly reached her, then added a moment later as an afterthought, "His name's Taichou."

The ground squished beneath his feet. He stopped a little more than an arm's length from Krile, and idly brushing a lock of hair out of his face, he remarked, "He picked a lousy time for a walk." So did you remained unspoken; for all Rain knew, she might have some business out here.

Princess scratched behind the dog's ears. "Nice to meet you, Taichou." She didn't need to know exactly what he was saying with that bark to tell that he was happy, but--it was more than just a bark anyway. Not that she saw anything strange with that.

"I bet you he'll fight like heck against a bath though. So what's your name, mister?" she asked, looking up at Taichou's owner. He didn't look familiar at all, but maybe he knew her. Or if he didn't, maybe he knew someone who did... or they could get along anyway! He didn't look like the most cheerful person, but that didn't deter her.

Bazaar, 25th, midday? iattractmushi May 27 2011, 03:25:43 UTC
Cloud was picking up a few supplies, as well as lunch, when he spotted a familiar blonde head of hair not too far away. Slinging his bag over one shoulder and dropping some coins into the merchant's waiting palm, he walked over to her. After seeing her writing on Sniper's journal entry, he wanted to make sure she was alright.

He managed to scrape up a smile from somewhere. It didn't feel too fake to him, either. "Mmmm... Princess, right? Hey. I'm Cloud." Well, that was blunt enough. Now he just hoped he hadn't scared her into running away from him. And with the way this week was shaping up? He wouldn't be at all surprised if she did.

"Oh, hello!" Princess smiled up at the white-haired man. She wasn't frightened at all. In fact, this Edensphere place seemed to be extraordinarily quiet. She hadn't seen any trace of monsters at all! Which was something she would not complain about.

Looking him over failed to bring any sense of familiarity, but it was clear that he was a friend. It wasn't like she went around wearing a nametag. "So--you know me, huh? Who are you?"

"I do. We're friends, or we were." It was hard to maintain his faint smile in the face of that cheerful expression void of any recognition, but he made his best effort. She did seem extraordinarily cheerful, even for Krile; he didn't want to ruin that.

"I saw your writing to Sniper, and... well, I. Wanted to see if you were..." 'alright' wasn't the word he wanted. She wasn't 'alright', she had lost her memories. That wasn't 'alright' by any stretch of the imagination. "...adjusting," he finished, a little lamely.

"If we were friends before, I don't see why we can't be friends again," said Princess. Amnesia aside, she honestly had no reason not to be cheerful. Gai had helped her out yesterday, and now it seemed like she'd met one of the people he'd told her about.

Anyway, this fellow seemed a little hesitant, despite the smile. Meeting a friend who saw you as a stranger had to be very hard... she wished she could make herself recognize him, but she couldn't. "I guess I am. I know a little bit about Edensphere now, anyway. It all seems very strange."

Bazaar; early afternoon; 25th? forgotmyforge May 27 2011, 14:54:12 UTC
Krile hadn't been in yesterday. This was a little unusual, although not entirely, given the various strange things that tended to happen to residents around here. Flame had just figured that Krile had gotten caught up in something or in helping someone. There had been quite a few people writing about how they'd lost their memories, just as she had for a few days at the beginning of the month. She was glad it hadn't happened to her again, but that meant she had room to worry about what was going on.

Krile had been here for a long time, though. And she was smart and capable. So Flame wasn't too concerned about her absence, except that it had extended another day without word. When she saw a familiar flash of blonde hair in the crowd, she leaned over the stall and called out, sounding a bit relieved.

"Hey, Krile! Where've you been?"

Princess looked around until she saw who'd called her name. Or the person she assumed had called her name. It could be someone else who was really named Kupo--but no, the woman was definitely looking at her.

"Hello!" She headed over quickly, dodging around a few people. There really was no shortage of people here! It was nice to see so many living in such a pleasant place. "I'm sorry, I couldn't hear the name you said just now. But do we know each other? I've come down with a bad case of amnesia."

"Amnesia?" Flame's eyes widened in surprise. Well, that would explain things, although it wasn't an explanation that Flame liked much. Krile had to be so disoriented, she thought.

"That's awful!" she said. "But, ah, I'm Flame. I work for you. Here, actually." She gestured back at the shop.

"Oh!" Princess looked into the store. "So this is the place Cloud was talking about... he said it was my job to sell weapons to people." She smiled brightly at the woman. Despite how serious this situation was, she was determined not to let it drag her down. "It's nice to meet you again, Flame. Sorry about forgetting."

She rocked back and forth on her heels. "So how long have we had this shop?" The sign, The Weapons Tree, and the building looked like recent construction.

On the shores of the Fisher's Isle lake, Above butchered a very large fish that she'd managed to kill. Too large to just swallow - human sized, just about - so she'd hauled it into the shallows and was now messily tearing it apart with her beak and claws. There was gore everywhere, bloodying the water; her third eyelids were closed, clouding and protecting her eyes.

She managed to separate its head from its body, took that head into her beak, and threw it back, so it slid into the back of her mouth and slowly worked its way down her throat, which bulged visibly.

The pterosaur not-sighed. First meal of the day was generally the best. < Could use butter, though, > she complained, knowing full well that she wouldn't be able to taste it anyway.

Princess froze when she saw the enormous creature. She wished she could say it was like nothing she'd ever seen, except she had no idea what kind of monsters she knew about. Regardless, this looked like one that ought to be avoided.

But now that she'd seen it, she couldn't just run away. A flying creature? It probably wouldn't have any trouble reaching other islands and swooping down on people. And by the look of the bloody mess next to it, maybe it already had....

She drew her shortsword and approached cautiously. The thing seemed pretty occupied with its meal, but Princess had a feeling that would change as soon as it spotted the shine from her sword--damn, she should've kept it in its sheath. Too late now, though.

Past the tip and first few inches of Above's beak, which had been ground to dullness thanks to her using it to grasp things and manipulate objects so often, there were a few feet of sharp-edged beak which could act as scissors. It was that she was using now, cutting an unskinned chunk into threes and tossing her head back to swallow the part that had been in the middle, fine sharp bones and all. The parts which had been on either side of her beak fell back with splashes into the water.

She shook her head briskly, sending bits of fish skin and gore in all directions, and opened her translucent third eyelids, immediately changing the world from something softly Impressionistic back into reality.

- and there was Krile, looking up at her with a sword drawn. Not comprehending, Above was blunt. < Krile, what do you think you're doing? >

"What in tarnation!" The exclamation jumped out before Princess could think things through. It was telepathic? And it knew her name! At least, she assumed so from the 'kupo' she heard in her mind. It sounded like a girl, too.

The splatter of blood and flesh had also looked curiously shiny. Taking a cautious step closer, Princess looked at what was clearly the remains of a large fish. Oh. So... this probably wasn't a monster.

Oops.

"Um, I--nothing," she said quickly, lowering the sword. She couldn't think of a polite way to say sorry, I thought you were eating someone. Everyone had told her that Edensphere was full of strangeness. Maybe this was just part of that. "Who are you? Sorry, I have amnesia."
