"Krile! How are you this evening? It is looking like a very good evening, even if it is a little rainy. You will have something warm to eat at home?" Soup would be good. He could see if they had any, or could make any. "You are welcome to come by if you would like!"

Well that was good! She'd been wandering around for a few hours, but had ended up back here in her circuit of the bridges. She hadn't tried the elevator yet. "Hello!" she said with a friendly smile. "Um... is my name Kupo? I haven't been able to remember a thing all day."

Gai paused for a moment, trying to figure out how to address this correctly. "Are you calling yourself something?" Fred had picked something new this time, so Krile might have. "Otherwise, for a time you went by the name of Cara. I do not know what meaning that had to you, I am sorry. But I am sure that if you have picked something new it is fine and fitting!"
There was a lot to cover if she'd forgotten everything. Gai wasn't sure where to start, and then he realized there was one rather important thing to cover first. "I am Gai. I am one of your many friends here. You are in Edensphere. Everyone here has forgotten their past, but some have re-forgotten it and that is all right because there are many here who will help you and others out."

Gai. The name didn't sound familiar in the least, but she wouldn't have expected it to. It was a little unsettling to know that amnesia was that common here... but if there were that many people, it didn't sound so bad. A person didn't need memories to be who they were. "It's nice to meet you again, Gai!" She looked behind him at the enormous tree. "So--why did this happen? Please don't tell me we all got hit over the head." She said that with a bit of a grin.

So as Taichou frolicked through the mud - ugh, great - Rain stood stoically by himself a considerable distance off, half-watching, his damp hair sticking to the sides of his face and dripping onto his shoulders, the occasional water droplet running off the end of his nose. He was a little surprised to catch sight of Krile; he couldn't really fathom why anyone would come to the park in the rain, barring being dragged out here by a needy pet.

When she walked closer to pet him, she saw the decidedly less-happy fellow standing and watching. "Hello!" Princess called, waving. Did he know what this place was? "Is this your dog?"
Reply
"Yes," he answered once he had nearly reached her, then added a moment later as an afterthought, "His name's Taichou."
The ground squished beneath his feet. He stopped a little more than an arm's length from Krile, and idly brushing a lock of hair out of his face, he remarked, "He picked a lousy time for a walk." So did you remained unspoken; for all Rain knew, she might have some business out here.

"I bet you he'll fight like heck against a bath though. So what's your name, mister?" she asked, looking up at Taichou's owner. He didn't look familiar at all, but maybe he knew her. Or if he didn't, maybe he knew someone who did... or they could get along anyway! He didn't look like the most cheerful person, but that didn't deter her.

He managed to scrape up a smile from somewhere. It didn't feel too fake to him, either. "Mmmm... Princess, right? Hey. I'm Cloud." Well, that was blunt enough. Now he just hoped he hadn't scared her into running away from him. And with the way this week was shaping up? He wouldn't be at all surprised if she did.

Looking him over failed to bring any sense of familiarity, but it was clear that he was a friend. It wasn't like she went around wearing a nametag. "So--you know me, huh? Who are you?"

"I saw your writing to Sniper, and... well, I. Wanted to see if you were..." 'alright' wasn't the word he wanted. She wasn't 'alright', she had lost her memories. That wasn't 'alright' by any stretch of the imagination. "...adjusting," he finished, a little lamely.

Anyway, this fellow seemed a little hesitant, despite the smile. Meeting a friend who saw you as a stranger had to be very hard... she wished she could make herself recognize him, but she couldn't. "I guess I am. I know a little bit about Edensphere now, anyway. It all seems very strange."

Krile had been here for a long time, though. And she was smart and capable. So Flame wasn't too concerned about her absence, except that it had extended another day without word. When she saw a familiar flash of blonde hair in the crowd, she leaned over the stall and called out, sounding a bit relieved.
"Hey, Krile! Where've you been?"

"Hello!" She headed over quickly, dodging around a few people. There really was no shortage of people here! It was nice to see so many living in such a pleasant place. "I'm sorry, I couldn't hear the name you said just now. But do we know each other? I've come down with a bad case of amnesia."
Reply
"That's awful!" she said. "But, ah, I'm Flame. I work for you. Here, actually." She gestured back at the shop.

She rocked back and forth on her heels. "So how long have we had this shop?" The sign, The Weapons Tree, and the building looked like recent construction.

She managed to separate its head from its body, took that head into her beak, and threw it back, so it slid into the back of her mouth and slowly worked its way down her throat, which bulged visibly.
The pterosaur not-sighed. First meal of the day was generally the best. < Could use butter, though, > she complained, knowing full well that she wouldn't be able to taste it anyway.

But now that she'd seen it, she couldn't just run away. A flying creature? It probably wouldn't have any trouble reaching other islands and swooping down on people. And by the look of the bloody mess next to it, maybe it already had....
She drew her shortsword and approached cautiously. The thing seemed pretty occupied with its meal, but Princess had a feeling that would change as soon as it spotted the shine from her sword--damn, she should've kept it in its sheath. Too late now, though.

She shook her head briskly, sending bits of fish skin and gore in all directions, and opened her translucent third eyelids, immediately changing the world from something softly Impressionistic back into reality.
- and there was Krile, looking up at her with a sword drawn. Not comprehending, Above was blunt. < Krile, what do you think you're doing? >

The splatter of blood and flesh had also looked curiously shiny. Taking a cautious step closer, Princess looked at what was clearly the remains of a large fish. Oh. So... this probably wasn't a monster.
Oops.
"Um, I--nothing," she said quickly, lowering the sword. She couldn't think of a polite way to say sorry, I thought you were eating someone. Everyone had told her that Edensphere was full of strangeness. Maybe this was just part of that. "Who are you? Sorry, I have amnesia."
