Sunday was my chocolate class. It was kind of disorganized and the guy was really ditzy, but the chocolates turned out so well! I spend most of the time making almond dragees (first and last pictures), but I also got to make a red pepper ganache.

The snow is really kind of beautiful from 7th floor view of Lake Michigan and the city. On the ground, not so much, as I learned on my trek 4 blocks south to the grocery store (and then 4 blocks back north, of course). Birthday was pretty good. Got some bizarre gifts from the family, ate tons of meat at Brazzaz, passed out on the couch after drinking one too many lemon drop martinis. This morning started with Lillie getting sick. Luckily, I managed to grab her and hold her over the toilet before she really got going. Unluckily, Louie got overly excited by all of this commotion and he went pee all over the carpet. One disaster avoided, another disaster gained.

One of my favorite stores is CB2 despite it being ridiculously expensive. It's the hipper, funkier version of Crate&Barrel. Anyway, there's one near the North & Clyborn L stop so I went in and ended up buying juice glasses, appetizer plates and chopsticks. Did I really need any of this stuff? Well, no. But it's so cute!
