This morning I awoke to a world shrouded in grey. I decided to take the slightly longer way to work that goes on the four-lane highway for more of the trip than my usual way. Last week when we attending Yule Toy Tourney, it didn't feel like December at all. The temps were in the high 70s last week and this week. Today a front finally came in. It brought rain and colder temps. Yay to both! This evening Eldred and I went to my department party. It rained on us the whole way there and back. Nice steady rain too.

Eldred was feeling a little unwell all last week. I finished Rebecca last night. Not as scary or romantic as I had expected considering I have it listed as the modern Gothic romance prototype. I started the 1940 movie this morning before heading to work. I'll finish it this evening. Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine are the leads. I also noticed Nigel Bruce and Leo G. The weather this week has been great. Cooler than usual. Rain several days in a row. Overcast a good part of the time the past few days. I am really enjoying because I know it won't last. Tomorrow's highs are supposed to be back in the 90's.

This afternoon we got some much-needed rain. It thundered and poured rain several times. Evidently, there was even hail that stopped traffic on I-385. I didn't see the hail at the library. We need more rain, but it's something. And it was much cooler this evening than it has been recently. Very pleasant!

Spring is underway. The bradford pears in our yard bloomed big time this week. They are a masss of white as are lots of other trees. I am enjoying the splashes of color appearing in yards. This morning I had to scrape frost off the car windows. Another sign of fall. I remembered to wear my heavier jacket and was glad of it. It's a beautiful clear fall day so far. Expected hig - mid 50's. Sitting at my desk in the Technology Center I have a view of trees and sky out of the curved wall of windows at the front of the library. Very nice!

This morning was lovely and cool when I headed out to work. I almost went back into the hosue to get a light jacket. When I went to lunch it was still nice. It has been overcast all day which explains the temperature drop. I know it will get warm again, but it's nice to have a cool day every once in a while ( Read more... )
