The small caravan of two canvased trucks, one tank, one hummer and one futuristic vehicle make a half circle towards the center of the city, partly as a way to protect against the wind and partly as a wall in case the zombies show up. So far, it's quiet on that front. Various soldiers set up a spots to keep watch and to log in the findings.

He was excited. It wasn't hard to tell he was excited, the man could hardly keep still, even after they had set out. They were on their way, they were going to explore reaches unknown to them, they were outside.

So the area was pretty bleak, but then it wasn't like Graham had expected paradise outside the city walls. It was an added plus to get to ride Ironhide since the truck seemed rather picky about who he let inside, but the mechanic and Mikaela had brought up some reasonable points the last time they'd all been together. That and it was either them or worse yet- random soldiers!

Once at the area in question, Graham surveyed what they were able to see from their position, one hand stuffed in the pocket of the coat he wore over his usual jumpsuit, the other grasping, as usual, the over-sized wrench he had naturally brought along. "And what does this story's chapter hold for us? Something exciting and new, I hope! So do we get to go and play yet?"

((OOC: Hope you don't mind my assuming, 'hidey, 'kaela~♥))

"Would you quit fidgeting?"

Although, Ironhide really wasn't one to talk. He was just as anxious to move, to do something besides hunker down in the piles of discarded bits and pieces, waiting. But now, it seemed he had little to look forward to besides being used as a wall of all things. How was he supposed to be of any use just sitting here?

He rocked on his wheels, resisting the urge to rev his engine, or spin his tires. He had to play the part of Graham's truck. It was worse than pretending to be Lennox's. At least the major had a sense of what was, and what wasn't respectful for a fellow soldier. He was treated like an equal. Not like... whatever it was the blonde human thought he was.

Or these soldiers.

"What do they want to accomplish just sitting here?" he growled, through the radio.

"You're asking me? I've never done this before so how should I know if they follow some kind of protocol. Oh well, let 'em cling to whatever semblance of order they've deluded themselves into believing they've got a grasp on, huh?" The mechanic grinned lazily. They were out here instead on the other side of the walls. That certainly factored into his good mood.

Graham drummed his fingers next to the window. It wasn't that he didn't respect the truck, but then Ironhide might not understand how the man's reasoning worked towards it. Clearly the truck was an intelligent individual and much more than just another pretty vehicle set to be dismantled by his skilled and anxious hands. That wasn't to say that Graham wouldn't like to dismantle the truck, given the chance, but then where would that get him? There was only one Autobot and once that was broken, he'd be left with scraps. No, no good. No good at all!

".....aaaah, it's always the waiting. Waiting is so boring, so tediously boring and that's all they ( ... )

There used to be a petrol area in this site. Some tanks were brought out to collect the fuel/oil if it's not contaminated.

Setsuna had dressed himself in his military uniform like was required of him, but he had an additional scarf around his neck. It was red, just like the ones he used to wear back home whenever he went somewhere undercover, which wasn't that often anyway.

He stepped on the top of some ruins of a building which once stood tall and proud, and looked around. It was his first time being outside of the city, and he suspected that it would be a long time before he would be able to come out again.

He hung back as the tanks were brought out to collect whatever fuel they could find, instead choosing to survey the area for any sightings of the zombies.

Alfons was in the think of things, pointing at things and giving orders as the tanks were put into place. He oversaw some people setting in to stripping down some wiring that was showing out of what once was probably a street lamp, and then took a moment to step away from the hubbub and rub his shoulder, eyes closed for a moment.

After hanging around for a few more moments, he decided that it was enough for now. Nothing major seemed to be happening, and so he stepped down from the ruins, and wandered over to where the tanks were.

He doesn't go too close, choosing only to stand to one side, and watch.

Here is the quarter of the city that has the skeleton like buildings that are in danger of falling over. Be careful not to move too much around in this area, or something may collapse!

Allelujah kept his hand near the gun mainly on reflex, though the creepiness of the surroundings was a good indicator that next moment they could encounter zombies, or have a close meeting with part of one of the ruined buildings around. After deciding to join Jadzia and Neil, their group was looking for any documents that could give insight into the last moments before this city fell.

'Still feeling protective, eh?' Hallelujah piped in when his gaze returned to Lockon, to ensure everything's fine. Right now they were looking while keeping in distance to check more of the surroundings. So far their search haven't proved successful.

"Keep quiet." Allelujah murmured sternly, keeping his voice so quiet it won't be heard by the other two.

Keeping each other within sight seemed like a good idea. Just like "proceed with utmost caution" rule. For now the city seemed pretty dead, but who knows when it decides to turn "un-dead"? If ever, in fact. They were constantly told about danger from zombies yet they haven't managed to truly see any for longer period of time.

On the other hand, Lockon noted that they didn't spot actual corpses either, whatever it meant.

He rushed towards Allelujah, trying to give a hand sign to Jadzia, to join them when she had moment. "I think there is library or hospital down this street." he pointed in the direction he came from, huffing and puffing slightly. "Not sure how far, because the signs were damaged." If they were going to search for info about infection, hospital seemed like a good idea.

Allelujah nodded at those words and signaled Jadzia to follow them, before walking in the direction Lockon came from, though careful to not lose sight of her.

"The buildings don't look too stable here. We need to be extra careful."

The 'park' df_official December 4 2009, 21:17:39 UTC
It looks barren, but if people are careful, perhaps some soil samples may indicate something? Or maybe evidence of plant life that struggled to survive during the daytime.

Cielo wandered the area, looking up at the buildings with an uncharacteristically solemn expression. It reminded him so much of the Junkyard, where some places seemed just as dead and empty. His tribe had taken shelter in a run down building.

He held no love for that place, but the memories of his comrades made him feel even more lonely then he had been recently. Clearly in his mind he could see the ghosts of his tribe going about their business like they did back in Muladhara.

With a sigh he turned into the open, barren area. It was a dangerous place to be in his mind. Too wide open with no real cover should an enemy attack. So he stuck to the outskirts for now, walking around rather then straight across.

The Netherworld had no shortage of ruins: rubble left untouched in the wake of earthquakes; once-great tombs now fallen into decay; palaces torn apart in a fit of rage, never rebuilt, and reclaimed by nature. Laharl had travelled enough to be familiar with them, but this city just had a different feel to it. Not as if it had been intentionally left behind or destroyed, but as if its people had been stolen out from inside it, or turned against it. Like something malevolent lingered here.

Of course, Veles had a similar feeling, but all the humans still living there tended to mask it.

Laharl wandered the place, less with the intention of actually helping out like he was supposed to, and more with the thought of waiting for something dangerous to show up. The open space of the former park didn't intimidate him, and he walked into it almost as though inviting trouble. He noticed Cielo, but only glanced briefly his way.

Where the water treatment plant is for the city df_official December 4 2009, 21:22:22 UTC
There's still running water from a river. Who knows if any of the workings in this plant is salvagable. If you can take it apart, it's yours!

If he had a flag, he'd skewer the ground with it to claim turf. Bad enough he was getting anxious that the others had been heading out already, but here it seemed like there was still something yet to be checked out- or at least, he didn't see any of the others in the area. The place itself looked pretty impressive... for ruins, of course. To Graham, it just meant more stuff to break...

"Oh yeah. That looks like a fun place. Whaddya say?" he said, grinning over his shoulder.

Once they were far enough away from the other observers, he'd transformed. Slowly. Gears and joints ground in painful protest to the movement. And, as usual, the process left him kneeling on the ground for a few moments, too drained to move. But then, he was back on his feet, limping along with them.

"Some sort of treatment facility," he rumbled. "Unable to tell if the water is safe for human consumption... keep away from it."

"Looks good to me," she agreed, glancing up at Ironhide with the tiniest smile though she'd moved closer to rest a hand on his foot as she chewed on her lip in concern. But then, he'd been on his feet and moving...so she'd kept silent. She had little room to talk.

"It's probably pretty gross. Wasn't planning on drinking it..."
