Disclaimer: Devil Wears Prada, the book and the movie are owned by their respective producers. I am making no money from this foray into femslash fanfiction.
A/N: Once again, I labeled the sections as chapters though they are very short.
A/N: Also once again, this hasn’t been beta’d, so all mistakes are mine alone.
A/N: There is a lot of backstory here that isn't included. I might be able to be persuaded to put that into writing.
A/N: This deals with bondage and discipline. I am not in the lifestyle so it is probably all bull*, but know that the characters don't view themselves as being in the lifestyle. It applies to certain aspects of their personal lives so that they have an area where they may relax.
Irv Ravitz was frustrated. It had been nearly eight months since Miranda thwarted him in Paris and he had made little progress on prying the Ice Queen from her Lair.
Carefully planted suggestions to the tabloids about the divorce proceedings of Miranda and Stephen yielded happy little moments as he heard her rant at her staff. But other than minor impacts upon her budget to fund the severance package of the dismissed employees, the return on investment was pitiful.
To compound the matter, his wife of twenty years was an avid reader of Runway, Runway London, and Runway Française. Then there was her need to gossip. He loved her, but while divorcing his first wife to marry a trophy wife twenty years his junior was de rigueur at the time it wasn't his wisest decision.
"… Miranda and C. D. Ash. Maybe it would be wise if, after three failed marriages she went after that." Claudia droned on.
"Perhaps we should try the Bahamas this fall. That is assuming that there isn't a hurricane that gets in the way. Oh, and I have spoken with the Foundation. I will be able to attend the Fashion Week Events. I'll start in Los Angeles, attend through Paris and Milan, and maybe even go to Tokyo."
Irv tried rewinding the conversation but the concept of his wife chasing the Fashion Week Circuit was horrifying enough, budget wise, that he couldn't think of anything else.
Days later when the conversation came to mind, he would wonder why Miranda getting together with some writer would be wise if she had three failed marriages.
