"Super" Weekend

Update Stuff

This was a moderately busy weekend for the doctor, starting off with seeing the war/holocaust movie Defiance with pixelmonster and LJ-less 'stooge' Larry. It was a good, solid WW II based on the Jewish Bielski partisans in German occupied Eastern Poland/western Belarus. This was a much better choice of movie than the usual Hollywood 'fluff' or ( Read more... )

Thanks for the great Shiny of Saturn! Skritch ShadowKitty for me.

As for the game, I didn't watch it. I don't HATE football, or any sport, but don't care to watch them either. Besides, like I said in my blog this morning, I've been sleeping A LOT more than usual the last couple of weeks.

I saw the first half of the game and the halftime show - I was at my mother-in-law's house, and the start of the second half pretty much coincided with the time where we had to leave if we wanted to get everyone off to work and school in the morning; by the time we got home and settled, it was done. I thought the play in the first half was not so hot for either team, although the hundred-yard run that ended the half was a thing of beauty. And I understand that it got better...

Very pleased with Bruce Springsteen, although I thought the banter about the 'delay of game' penalty was a little corny.

Like many Detroiters, I was shocked and appalled that Matt Millen was chosen to be a halftime commentator; previous victories or no, he's spent the past several years proving that he knows absolutely nothing about football.

I was at a KnitALong group until about 3 and got home in the middle of the second quarter. So I saw the end of the First Half, that was impressive.
And Bruce. He's voice was terrible last night. He's not a great singer to begin with and last night he had No Voice at all.
Second half was worth watching. Though I was doing chores while the game was on, stopping to watch the commercials.
Shame about Arizona. It was a great comeback. And now the Pitts have a better record than my beloved 9ers. Boo!
Pretty Shiny! Saturn, not the game.

OOOOO Shiny!!!

I watched until I was fed up with the way the Cards were playing and figured it would be a blowout. I went to bed around 5 mins into the 3rd quarter. Yes, I'm kicking myself. I think I should've gone to bed earlier. Perhaps then the Cards would've actually pulled it off :)

Having said that. I watched about 3 hours of the pregame stuff.
