EVENT: Voodoo Festival!

Aug 27, 2010 23:46

There's a banner raised between two wooden posts smack dab in the middle of the quad, hand-painted, by the look of it. The lettering is thin and, judging by the slight drip of the red paint, probably done in a bit of a hurry, though the image of a voodoo doll to the right of the words looks pretty well done.

[Mulan looks around... just taking in the general atmosphere of the place... it all seemed interesting but... she wasn't sure if she wanted to mess with the spirits. Brining dishonor to her ancestors was the laaaast thing on her to do list. Even though she always seemed to find a way to do it anyhow]

[Cogsworth's wandering around as well, against better judgment...
After that horrible lockdown, Cogsy has been exploring and curiosity seems to have more sway over him right now than logic. He eyes the tents and the things inside with a mix of intrigue and fear, keeping his distance away from anything looking particularly dubious.

As he walks around, he can't help but wonder why they allowed a Voodoo Doctor to become a teacher.]

[Facilier does a double-take as Cogsworth passes by -- a walking clock? A talking lion was something else, but this... how interesting.

He catches up with him in two strides or less, and plants his cane directly in Cogsworth's path.]

Well, what have we here?

Potions bffsonotherside August 28 2010, 03:54:18 UTC
The purple and pink striped tent is fully stocked with a number of shelves, packed to the brim with bottles of all shapes and sizes; one thin, triangular one looks like it could hold about a liter of whatever blue mixture is inside, and on the table a velvet-lined box contains a handful of faintly glowing potions contained in vials no bigger than a thimble. A scroll in the middle of the table tells you what's what, and it looks like there's just about everything from transformations to love to... whoa, that one can reverse your personality? All temporary, of course~

[Kuzco shall explore each tent. Thankyouverymuch! But the potions one caught his interest first. Yzma's fault perhaps? You bet your horse it is.

So he's looking at the animal transformation ones ignoring the personality ones completely when he snaps his fingers. And....does nothing else. Clearly expecting someone to come and assist him.]

[...Hm. Facilier crosses the grass to enter the tent as well, though he's rather irritated about it. Perhaps his silent approach and the way he practically speaks right into Kuzco's ear will scare him into some manners.]

Somethin' I can help ya with?

[Kuzco is used to quiet servants service, Facilier. He doesn't so much as blink...or look at you.]

Oh yeah, hi. Yeah I was wondering about any - [he's flapping his hands...] - flying potions you might have.

Like birds ya know?

[Kuzco kinda missed that brief bit of flying he got to do in the midst of all that chaos. It was awesome and he wanted to try it a bit longer.]

Charms and Enchantments bffsonotherside August 28 2010, 03:54:37 UTC
Baskets and barrels of cute little charms fill this tent, and there's even a glass case containing a couple of crudely stitched voodoo dolls. There's another case filled with all sorts of colorful powders stored in what looks like no more than salt shakers: they're a bit more expensive, given that they can conjure images depending on the user's will. A catalogue of enchantments rests on a side table beside a wooden set of pigeonholes, each with tiny scrolls labeled by code inside. Looks like there's a charm for just about anything in here, from protection to intelligence to good or poor fortune.

[Chel would be quite adverse to this sort of... sorcery if situations were different. But this very restless, very bored girl - roaming through the voodoo dolls, spinning her own tales - has a different air about her.

But she has no intention of doing anything brash. Yet.]

The dark tent is the smallest of them all, and it has a bit of a claustrophobic feel as you pull back the tent flaps to step inside. Voodoo dolls far more detailed than the ones in the Charms tent hang suspended from the ceiling, and various trinkets glint a bit sinisterly from their shelves. There doesn't appear to be quite so many products in here, but then again these are the most potent of the bunch. Looking to get back at someone? Here's your place.

[And of course, here's Mozenrath examining a few of the more 'interesting-looking' trinkets. He looks a bit irritated with them, though, as if he expected more. Xerxes was busy blinking at a voodoo doll that looked suspiciously like his Master...]

You a fan? [Facilier's suddenly behind Xerxes, smirking at him.] If you're lookin' to get back at your Master for any ill-treatment, this is-- Ah, my Lord~

[Pretending like he just noticed Mozenrath, sweeping into a mocking bow.] What brings you to this tent, hm? Surely you've your own manner of darker magicks to play aroun' with.

[Xerxes' entire body straightened out as he hissed in shock, those goggle-eyed bugging. The poor eel rushed back to Mozenrath's shoulder, glaring viciously at Faci for surprising him. Mozenrath ignored the entire exchange and put the charm he was holding back on the table]

Indeed, but there's no harm in inspecting the works of others. At least... the works that they are willing to part with.

[This Facilier guy again...what was he up to now, with these strange charms he was selling. Bubbles didn't like the idea of a voodoo festival; not at all. He'd managed to read that voodoo book that Lilo had gotten so long ago one night, and it didn't sit well with him. If he had his way, this festival would be shut down in no time.

He walks up to the booth with a certain sureness to his step, more so than usual if that's possible.]

Dr. Facilier, I do trust that this festival you running is safe for the students of disney academy in every way.

[Saints, this guy. His posture alone looks like it's put a damper on the whole affair. But hey, Facilier's not one to let it show, and who knows, maybe he can persuade him to... lighten up. One way or another.]

Oh, I assure you, this is safe in every possible and conceivable way. I'm not about to be dolin' out charms that'll do any real harm, I have a business to run.

[His face stays as firm as ever.]

I trust the students health is your primary concern, but I'll be watching closely either way.

[He barely changes his expression at all, turning slightly and fingering one of the charms with a big finger, his face contorting a little in distrust.]

[Facilier peers over his shoulder. Egged on by Bubbles' unease? No, never~]

Somethin' the matter?
