jason came to visit for the weekend. yay! we didn't do much. but we did watch a history of violence and la jetee, both of which were fab. in la jetee, are the whispered parts spoken backwards or something? we couldn't figure out why there weren't subtitles for those sections. oh well ( Read more... ) -

i just played wii bowling with my family while slightly intoxicated. what an odd experience.
later there will be pictures of me while i was still more tipsy with a giant sombrero on my head (courtesy of marian). outstanding. giant pitcher of frozen margritas = win! especially when i'm not paying fo any of it. -
few things
my main, non-spoiler-y complaint about the latest potter film is that it was too rushed. honestly, another 15 minutes of exposition or at least just some shots of the characters walking places instead of having seven million jump-cuts would have been nice. they're over here! wait no, they're over here! gah. at least luna was completely delightful ( Read more... ) -
saddest thing ever.
my laptop's keyboard just stopped working yesterday for no apparent reason. so after trying the standard rebooting and system restore sorts of fixes, i went to walmart and bought a $10 keyboard. so my laptop is officially the saddest laptop currently functioning. it's 4.5 years old, and now has a large, cheap, non-color-matching keyboard attached ( Read more... ) -
better.
i'm sort of nostalgic for random things i now find romantic, perhaps simply because of their absense. like card catologues. and being able to meet people at the gates of airports rather than just at the baggage claim areas. and - though this was never the case in my lifetime - being able to actually touch all the cool stuff in museums and "rare ( Read more... )
