i'm sort of nostalgic for random things i now find romantic, perhaps simply because of their absense. like card catologues. and being able to meet people at the gates of airports rather than just at the baggage claim areas. and - though this was never the case in my lifetime - being able to actually touch all the cool stuff in museums and "rare books" sections of libraries. oh, and i sometimes wish that men all still wore nice hats out in public. there's something sort of charming about polite conformity.
