Endeavour's launch is scrubbed again. It's a break day on the Tour de France. They started ripping up our street this morning and will be working on it through September. We need rain. My hip pain has gone, but my knee pain is back. We've lost two more staff members at the 'berry.

It was finally a good day to ride on my day off. I put 35 miles on the bike, which takes me past 2,000 miles in under a year on the hybrid. I haven't run the numbers to see how many miles I've put on the mountain bike in the same time period. Now I working at putting miles on for year two. We just had the third driest May on record, so folks around here are very happy to have a nice day long rain today. I got a bit soggy riding to work and back from the bookstore, but totally worth it. I've never seen the creeks so dry around here. Every day on my walks at the 'berry I can see more creek bed and less water. I came across two large ( Read more... )

 
We really need rain in these parts. We're getting teased again tonight, but it's doubtful we'll get more than a thimble full of moisture tonight. I noticed dry creek beds on Shingle Creek and Minnehaha Creek, while out on the bike. We need rain, but all we get is wind.  I've been recovering from a nasty cold, so my bike riding is way down. All the wind and rain clouds haven't helped. Hopefully the weekend will bring some long rides. We had another shooting by the 'berry yesterday. Still haven't heard if anyone was hurt. The cops were looking for shell casings as I drove past. Nice. We're also waiting to see if ( Read more... )

The weather last week was pretty decent and I put a lot of miles of the bike. I rode to work four days in a row. The only downside was getting up early enough to have time to make the trip. The snow from yesterday is gone, the sun is back (and the wind) and I was out on the trails for three hours. I took the SW trail to the Greenway. Stopped in at the Uncles again, I was just buying books on Tuesday. I headed down the Greenway to the Mighty Mississippi and followed West River Parkway upstream to the Falls of St. Anthony.
