Wife left town Friday night so I could have the boys around and host poker. Been since November and not having one for March, so it was good to get a few games in, even if only four of us could make it. Also it was good to play host, which I've only done once before. Needed a good cook. Saw veal escalopes in the store over the weekend and picked a couple up. Nothing new, but it's the best schnitzel I've made. With saffron risotto and green salad with raspberry vinaigrette.

OK. Really haven't done much this weekend. Supposed to file CDs and polish my shoes, I've done neither. I've cooked. Veal ragu for Friday and wild mallard for Saturday. Wife liked neither. I was very pleased with my chocolate mousse this weekend. I haven't made it for a few years, but this was by far the best I've done. Partly it was the chocolate I used: Willy's Madagascar 71% (very pure, no vanilla and no emulsifiers). But also, I used a new recipe, and I think it's much better.
