He's been hanging out in Europe off and on for the past year, and at the end of his visa stint he trekked 10 days into the Sinai desert. On his way back home to the US flew through the UK, with a quick couple days in Edinburgh, down to see a very old friend in Yorkshire for a night, then staying with me for the final weekend.

I've gone through more periods of feeling... flat or maybe drifting... is best I can describe. Both at work and at home, no excitement, not feeling or doing much that feels like progress. Ok some I'm drinking a palo cortado sherry, listening to Nils Petter Molvaer, and cooking shakshuka. I'm pretty much a wanker.

It is good to be in the office earlier every day, but I do miss breakfast with my wife every morning. We used to sit down together and have our tea and toast before heading out for the day. Now with both of us working longer hours and her going gluten free, it is more likely to be a smoothie or bowl of yogurt standing in the kitchen as she dries ( Read more... )
