Got up today to winter fantabuloso-land.  Called in to the weather hotline for work and it said "2 hour delay."  Was sitting around enjoying a coffee, contemplating whether or not to call into work a few hours later when my boss called and said the site was closed, stay home.  FTW ( Read more... )

I'm in the process of uploading all of our photos/videos to flickr.  There are a lot of them and it's going to take a while.  To save myself a headache, for now I'm just putting them in sets by month.  I may work on getting specific events split out into their own sets later.  Working backwards I've gotten only through October so far.  I expect ( Read more... )

Allergies, against all previous trends, continue to bedevil me.  The current trend, based on looking at previous LJ posts, is abnormal.  Last year I don't seem to have mentioned them at all past the beginning of September.  Now, I'm waking up to them every morning and feeling stirrings all day.  Bleh.

For the month of September I've either been recovering from surgery, having and/or recovering from the flu, and having allergies that are as bad as I can remember.  The flu recovery + rampant allergies has resulted in me developing a painful cough that comes on in the early morning.  And allergies were bad enough on Thursday that I had to take a ( Read more... )

My lazy ass needs to get out in the heat and get more exercise. I've done shit-all since the surgery. Add to that, work not being so hot right now, which makes distracting myself with a bag of Skittles while there all the more appealing. So tonight I got out and did 5.5 miles. This past week has been one alternately of comfort and discomfort. While the painkillers were nice, they also promoted the idea that maybe being cut open and sewed back together wasn't that big a deal. So on Monday I walked Piper out to the desert.
