For the month of September I've either been recovering from surgery, having and/or recovering from the flu, and having allergies that are as bad as I can remember. The flu recovery + rampant allergies has resulted in me developing a painful cough that comes on in the early morning. And allergies were bad enough on Thursday that I had to take a bit of leave to come home and then was feeling to bad to go to the latest baby appointment (all good, by the way, we hit 34 weeks which was the "we don't have to go to El Paso to have babies" milestone). Add to that my neighbor, who likes to smoke meat in his back yard. Not a big deal, unless our swamp cooler is running, then it sucks in the smoke and our house smells like the aftermath of a fire for a few days; also this doesn't help my allergies any. This is happening right now, as matter of fact. I've shut the cooler down to minimize it The neighbor is nice and there's really no nice way of going over and asking if he could stop doing this perfectly reasonable thing that he likes to do. If the heat would abate enough that I could shut down the cooler and close up some windows it wouldn't be an issue. All in all, but for starting up (half-time till I get certified) a new job out at work (same employer, different contract and office) this week has not been the best. I have discovered that if you spend a majority of your day sneezing and/or coughing it makes for a pretty good ab workout. Oh, yeah, and with all of this it looks like I'm on track to fail the yearly exercise challenge for the first time since we started. fuck.
