My most unusual lunar eclipse photo
This is a combination of two photos taken 15 seconds apart during the waning partial phases of the total lunar eclipse on Wednesday morning. The camera is tilted into equatorial co-ordinates since it was piggy-backed on a telescope, so the horizon is at the lower-right. You can see stars in the upper-left. 10 years ago today, I created my LJ account.
10 and a half years ago, I bought my current car.
I can still drive them both.
Only difference is that my car still takes me where I want to go. -

Really really simple guideline for better judgement
It's pretty simple:
If you don't want an argument, and don't want to lose friends, then don't post bullshit that is guaranteed to get you an argument and guaranteed to anger your friends. -
Not a drive-by posting! And cougars and jaguars and sabre-teeth, oh my!
You know, if people are going to come back to LJ after an absence of several months, and make their "OMG I love LJ but it's too bad the volume of activity has fallen off" posts before hastily returning to Facebook, the least they can do is to REPLY to whatever comments they get on that post ( Read more... ) -

Unexpectedly Transplanted
I never thought that I would do it, but I got an account on Twitter just over 5 weeks ago. Activity on LJ has been steadily declining for years, and it seemed to me that people must have made New Years resolutions to stop using LJ both last year and this year. My First Icon
I was cleaning up my hard drive the other day when I discovered a discarded attempt to create my first icon for LJ. I was struck by the amount of time that I obviously must have wasted on this project because after all that work tracing out the stray hairs by hand...
