It came so highly recommended. Just finished it, and I have to say I was completely underwhelmed. Felt utterly like run-of-the-mill pseudo-medieval fantasy to me. I just realized that the Hunger Games movies are going to rock the Bechdell Test so friggin' hard! Also, Katniss is one of the most complex Action Girls to hit the big screen in a very long time. Suddenly I am a lot more excited about this movie.

I put my wool stockings on the drying rack to, you know, dry.

The drying rack was next to the radiator.

Now my stockings feel smaller and less stretchy.

I think I felted my stockings by accident.

Just spent a bunch of time messing about in Excel, searching on Google and used VBA for the first time in an attempt to persuade a spreadsheet to disgorge a certain subset of data.

Then it turns out that the database already has a query for that subset.

Well, now I can say I've used VBA.

This morning I dreamed that there was a flood outside my apartment. But it was still warm out, so I left my windows open a bit. This allowed a polar bear to swim up to my window, open my screen, and get into my bedroom.

Don't look at me, I just live here.

Last night I had a dream that shirei_shibolim offered to lend me his industrial-grade snail vacuum. No explanation as to why I had to vacuum snails, or why he had it. Just the offer ( Read more... )
