I put my wool stockings on the drying rack to, you know, dry.

The drying rack was next to the radiator.

Now my stockings feel smaller and less stretchy.

I think I felted my stockings by accident.

The handknit socks I washed to bring to Boskone failed to dry in time. Which is annoying, as I was planning to darn the heels of one of the pairs on the train.
