Tamora Pierce is Awesome
Seriously. I knew this already, but it was much affirmed by this post on her LJ and the ensuing discussion in the comments. Also, looking at her use of "Bored now," I think she might be a Buffy fan, too.
As a direct result of the above, I now see the point of the “I am Mormon and normal” add campaign. I never used to, because I was never before weirded out by Mormons. But after reading the bit about how Stephanie Meyer associates Edward with Joseph Smith, how he came to her in a dream and she thinks of him as being a greater romantic hero than Romeo, Rhett Butler, Heathcliff and Tristan, I’m seriously weirded out.
