Back from the Jungle
I'm back in Iquitos, land of constant motorcycle noise. It's a weird change from the calming jungle noises of San Antonio de Pintuyacu, but it is nice to be able to check email and make phone calls ( Read more... ) -

Nos vamos a la selva mañana. The team will be leaving by boat around 6:30am tomorrow morning to go San Antonio de Pintuyacu in the middle of the Peruvian Amazon. Am I ready for the jungle? We´ll see.

I can´t believe I´m actually here
I arrived in Iquitos, Peru yesterday after spending a good 24 hours in the Austin, Dallas, Miami and Lima airports and various flights between. It´s been an eye-opening experience so far and I expect that it will only be more so when we go into San Antonio de Pintuyacu.

Weakened Virus
So I went for vaccinations yesterday morning. I got the second round of Hepatitis A & B, Yellow Fever and Typhoid. This is, of course, for my trip to the Peruvian Amazon this summer with braemblerose. Anyway, after I got the shots, the nurse told me that I might get sick and that I should go to the hospital if my fever got over 101. Yeah, uh, wasn't ( Read more... ) -

This morning I had one of the most terrifying experiences in recent memory. Puppy Jack and I were coming home from a walk at the park across the street when we saw a dog get run over.
