I'm back in Iquitos, land of constant motorcycle noise. It's a weird change from the calming jungle noises of San Antonio de Pintuyacu, but it is nice to be able to check email and make phone calls.
The trip was an incredible experience and I'll leave it at that. If you're actually interested in hearing more, I'd be glad to show you the pictures I took. It's so hard to describe what it was like and I've resolved to use a short yet sufficient answer for the polite, "How was your trip?" questions that I'm bound to get. This is a topic that
k45 has talked about a lot and I can really see what he means now. I don't want to be rude and give a one-sentence answer to friends that really want to hear about the trip, but I realize that a lot of people don't truly want to know and are just aking to be polite.
But this is starting to sound like a very negative post, so I'll change the subject now. My Spanish has improved a lot(I think), but I realize I still have a long way to go. I hope to fix that with more self-study, maybe an immersion program, and definitely more travel. Being around Spanish speakers on a daily basis has helped me tune my ear.
