The past week was good for the most part. A little drama, but that's behind me now. I saw Savages and was pleasantly surprised, although it is a very flawed film. But kept our interest throughout. Much more like a Tarantino film than a Stone film, IMO.

It's been awhile since I posted. For one thing, sadly my father passed away last month (he was 91) and I was out of town for a bit as a result. He had been having some health problems but his death came unexpectedly and I was not there when it happened. Went to an interesting program the other night at the Motion Picture Academy about "The Birth of Projection," during which they showed a wonderful Buster Keaton film called Sherlock Jr. The music in the youtube version below is not optimum (we had live piano accompaniment) but it's nevertheless a brilliant 45 minutes.
