Rain is pelting down outside my windows! After running around a bit earlier today, I am now snug in my apartment enjoying the weather. We generally get only one or two wet days in a row so it's a nice change of pace before the usual sun and blue skies resume

1/4 cup lentils
1/2 cup rice
vegetable broth
1/2 onion (sliced)
pinenuts (optional)
oil of choice
cumin
allspice
hot pepper
salt to taste
Cook lentils/rice until done in broth and spices. Meanwhile fry onion in oil until almost burned (very crispy). Remove and put aside
Fry the pinenuts in leftover oil until they are deep brown. Be careful, they burn fast.
Add onions and pinenuts to lentils/rice mixture
I often eat this with vegetable salad in homemade vinaigrette

Actually, I adore a good solid rainy day, which is indeed what we had to day. Just don't ask me to drive an hour in the stuff on my way to word at 6 in the morning. :P
Bergamot Station reminds me - have you gotten to many of the Pacific Standard Time shows? We've seen about a dozen or more of them - yay on the Ghetty for subsidizing them.
Man, it's been totally too long since we went to the Pantages. Last thing I saw there was Wicked.

Coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) - That's the most appalling thing I've seen since I saw an elementary school production of Hair.

I saw the original LA production of Hair at the Aquarius Theatre back in the day and still have the program. Did we already have this conversation? ;o)

Fun pics, as usual. That art piece is interesting, but looks like it would take up a lot of room! lol. That theater is gorgeous.

What fun pics. I am really impressed how well the Pantages shots came out. Great detail. I have not been there since Wicked. Wish there was something fabulous coming there soon, even if just to soak up the environment in there.
We had a great day with FIDM! Too bad they wouldn't let us take pix of the costumes inside, they were glorious. The milliner folk were charming.
And of course, can't help loving seeing Cafe Audrey again, I think we can make it a tradition<3

The first two, wonderful Pantages photos are not by me... got them online. You can see why I yearn for a professional camera. I could never get those shots with mine. I might just break down and get one, bulky size (which has been the primary deterrent) notwithstanding.
Cafe Audrey as a tradition (with you) is a grand idea.
