A bit of this and that

It's been awhile since I posted. For one thing, sadly my father passed away last month (he was 91) and I was out of town for a bit as a result. He had been having some health problems but his death came unexpectedly and I was not there when it happened. In Oregon for the funeral, my daughter and I had a very nice visit with my stepmother and her ( Read more... )

You take gorgeous photos.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. I live 3000 miles away from mine (who is about to turn 84), which is difficult for both of us.

*hugs you tight*

Glad you like the photos. So many nice things out there to photograph.

I know it's been tough for you re your dad. My father was not quite so far away as yours but not very accessible (I flew from LAX to Portland and then rented a car and drove south for 3+ hours, for example).

How spectacular your pictures are, they bring springtime right to me. I particularly like the illuminated manuscript above. The workmanship - those monks!

So proud of you in your vegan endeavor, I am contemplating taking the plunge myself even though my area has far fewer options, but still, options. Go you!

Still smiling to remember our fabulous evening with the Troubies - you've made me a devotee for sure. Thanks for including me in that great event.

I love to hear the story about trimming your bangs at Dick Clark's behest! He was a class act all the way, and is sadly missed.

And again, of course, my very deepest sympathy about your dad's passing.

*Hugs you*

I took quite a few photos indoors at HG but no flash was permitted so the quality was not great. (Luckily the ACD case was near a light source!)

Ah, dear Dick Clark... I really did admire him from an early age, and took away some lessons from him on professionalism when I started my own career years later.

I usually put my favorite photo first. Those trees were really fantastic, mixed with all of those feathery fronds silhouetted against the sky.
