[Introduction] The Shadow Man Cometh...

Apr 29, 2011 20:31

It's been a year or so since Tatsumi's fellow Shinigami and friend disappeared. Watari opened up a a portal to another realm in order to track down Kazutaka Muraki and Tsuzuki went through it, without backup, without  any sort of help from the outside. It was risky, but the enemy they were facing liked more company. If things got too rough, Tsuzuki ( Read more... )

Even at this hour, Tsuzuki is at work in the front garden: the heat of the day made it tough to get his work done, and so he's putting the last touches on a project he's been working on, with a little help from Hisoka, something he'll reveal at this year's flower-viewing picnic.

But as he looks up, he spies a familiar tall figure in a suit as dark as the shadows. He pauses, wiping his brow with his forearm.

"Tatsumi...?" he asks, disbelieving, yet delighted.

As Tatsumi walks up, he notices the messy, short brown hair, rumpled clothes, and those purple eyes... you can't miss them.

Well, that was simple, no explosions, no damage, no pale fiend... is this a trick?

“Tsuzuki...” His tone is clearly concerned, and glad to see him again...

Then his face and tone go right to being a tight-ass. “Do you have any idea how long you've away from headquarters?”

Tsuzuki drops the shovel he'd been using to bury the water line for his current project, and emitting a squee scurries toward Tatsumi, intending to tackle-glomp his former partner. But his foot catches on a rock a few feet away and he face-plants on the grass.

"Ugh," he mutters, spitting out a mouthful of grass and dirt. "Ah, well, it's been a year and a few months since I got lost going through that portal. I've been told that hardly a minute would have ticked by in the world I came from," he replies innocently.

Tatsumi merely folds his arms in each other and watches his former partner fall on his face. Yep, it's him. Stupid as ever.

"No. It's been a year and two months, what have you been doing during that time?

Once Tatsumi enters the Mansion and is settled, should he venture onto the porch he might find a tall, robust feller on the porch, shirtless and sluicing himself down with a pail of water.

Mal's been working all day, digging post holes, preparatory to asking the plothole to give him some milk-cows to look after, partly to give himself something to do. He's not sure he likes this, as it gives him a sense of putting down roots he's not ready to put down. But it sure as hell beats boredom.

As Tatsumi walks on his way to the mansion, he hears the disturbing sound of slurping... he can only put up with that sound when someone is eating noodles.

He spots Mal...

“Excuse me...”

Mal sets the pail down on a bench before looking over his shoulder and reaching for a towel. "Don't mind me: jus' cleanin' up 'fore I go in t' have m' dinner," he says.

You were cleaning?

"I see..." He replies awkwardly.

Anal Tatsumi just may be Anal.

If Tatsumi ventures into the library, he might find a girl in a lightweight Empire gown, curled up on the window seat, reading a thick book with a White Queen chess piece on the spine. She might set aside the book from time to time and rubs her temples. This fourth book in her otherwise favorite series is a bit much even for her to take. A woman bearing a child in an absurdly short amount of time? That is more than her mind can stand (she's seen her mother give birth to some of her youngest siblings).

She's quite willing to be interrupted: her mind needs a break.

Oh Twilight, you even make your fans brains break.

Tatsumi steps in the library, hoping to find a nice soothing cookbook... or something to take his mind off the fact that he's trapped in this sub-dimesion forever.

He doesn't notice Cathy. (He doesn't even notice most women, it's almost canon to this typist.)

"Breaking Dawn" has broken the brains of many Twi-fans, mostly the older, more sensible ones. Cathy might not be the most sensible, but she has her moments.

Spotting the newcomer, she looks up, curious, wondering what kind of man could have such remarkable blue eyes. "Good evening," she says. "Are you looking for something to read?"

He notices the girl, and by notice, we meant by looking down. (Tatsumi is a beanpole, y'all.)

"Yes, are there any cooking books in this place?"

Should Tatsumi make his way to the library, he'll find a young disheveled young man crouching into an armchair, reading Dostoevsky and slowly (methodically) enjoying caramels. He's free to disturb L - the detective is probably being very 'oral' about his sweets. If you know what we mean.

After chatting a little with the girl with a overly imaginative mind, he happens upon L... and does not speak to him.

The man looks like a staving son of an owl with a weird fetish for sweets. (Tatsumi knows some people with a sweet tooth, but he has yet to see someone take such care with sweets.)

L stares at Tatsumi, then proceeds to unwrap another caramel.

It's probably quite loud.

He twitches a bit. Thats very off-putting...

"Hello." Tatsumi finally utters.

Out in the common room, there's a passed out hippy on a couch. Berger may have indulged a little but too much last night, so he's now... resting his eyes.

Which apparently involves a rather loud snoring session.

And look, look! He's curled up on his couch with a teddy bear.

Three letters. W.T.F.

As soon as he encounters the snoring vagrant on the couch, he has the profound desire to beat up Tsuzuki for some reason or another.

If there's one thing he cannot stand, it's obvious laziness... and wasting expenses.

Berger is meanwhile absolutely oblivious. He shifts a little on the couch, curls up around the teddy bear, and starts sucking on his thumb.

Ok, Tsuzuki may be lazy and childish, but he never sucked on his thumb.

Tatsumi looks over at the lazy hippie, he's tempted to poke at him with a stick
