[Introduction] The Shadow Man Cometh...

Apr 29, 2011 20:31

It's been a year or so since Tatsumi's fellow Shinigami and friend disappeared. Watari opened up a a portal to another realm in order to track down Kazutaka Muraki and Tsuzuki went through it, without backup, without  any sort of help from the outside. It was risky, but the enemy they were facing liked more company. If things got too rough, Tsuzuki ( Read more... )

If Tatsumi ventures into the library, he might find a girl in a lightweight Empire gown, curled up on the window seat, reading a thick book with a White Queen chess piece on the spine. She might set aside the book from time to time and rubs her temples. This fourth book in her otherwise favorite series is a bit much even for her to take. A woman bearing a child in an absurdly short amount of time? That is more than her mind can stand (she's seen her mother give birth to some of her youngest siblings).

She's quite willing to be interrupted: her mind needs a break.

Oh Twilight, you even make your fans brains break.

Tatsumi steps in the library, hoping to find a nice soothing cookbook... or something to take his mind off the fact that he's trapped in this sub-dimesion forever.

He doesn't notice Cathy. (He doesn't even notice most women, it's almost canon to this typist.)

"Breaking Dawn" has broken the brains of many Twi-fans, mostly the older, more sensible ones. Cathy might not be the most sensible, but she has her moments.

Spotting the newcomer, she looks up, curious, wondering what kind of man could have such remarkable blue eyes. "Good evening," she says. "Are you looking for something to read?"

He notices the girl, and by notice, we meant by looking down. (Tatsumi is a beanpole, y'all.)

"Yes, are there any cooking books in this place?"

"There seems to be any book you could want or need in this library. I could help you look, if you do not mind my assistance," she says, rising. Even then, she's still teeny, five-foot-nothing if she's lucky. Curtsying, she adds, "I am Miss Catherine Morland, formerly of Fullerton."

"Thank you Miss Morland, I would appreciate the help. I am Seiichiro Tatsumi..."

He pauses, he doesn't know if he should tell the girl of him being a Shinigami. He decides against it.

"Of Tokyo, Japan."

She approaches him, beaming. "Oh, so you are from the Far East?" she asks. "I've heard it is a lovely place, but I regret I've never been there, not yet."

And she can't help thinking it must be a lovely place if it produces men who are as exquisite as this gentleman.

He pushes up his glasses.

"Yes, I am..."

Sorry Cathy, this guy most certainly isn't available. He can count on one hand the women he's liked. And all of them weren't as young as you.

She's a bit flustered by the presence of such a handsome man, but manages to pull her wits together. "So...what brings you to the Mansion of Mysteries?" she asks, innocently.

Tatsumi being Tatsumi assumes this actually the name for the mansion.

"I was looking for someone... I found him. Now I need to find a way back..."

"I don't know that it is possible to leave this place," she replies, apologetically. "From what I have heard, people seem to leave only when the house is ready to let them depart it's halls."

"Thats what they all say..." Tatsumi replies stubbornly.

"It's alright..." He sighs.

"You're only a young girl..."

"I will be eighteen in a few months," she says. "But there are others here who could tell you more since they have dwelt here longer. There is the Queen of Ebon Askavi, who might be able to explain this place better than I."

"Queen of Ebon... Askavi?" Tatsumi looks clearly confused.

This girl's crazy...
