“Key, sorry for not tell you earlier.” Jonghyun was looking down, not looking at Kibum’s eyes. That’s why Jonghyun didn’t see the tears in the younger boy’s eyes.
“Actually, I’m some well-known company’s kid. I-” Before Jonghyun can even continue, Kibum had already stood up. He turned his face away from Jonghyun because tears were running down his eyes. Without Jonghyun even need to tell him the whole thing, he had already heard everything from his mom. His fiancée, the girl that Jonghuyn loved a lot and was going to married when he takes over the business.
“Don’t worry, I’ll leave you.” Kibum had walked away, not wanting to hear Jonghyun anymore. It pains him even more to hear it from Jonghyun’s mouth. He would rather just hear it from Jonghyun’s mom. Jonghyun stood up from the couch.
“Kibum, I-” His words was cut off again by Kibum again. Kibum would never allow himself to hear it for the second time.
“I’ll… I’ll forget about whatever happened during a year plus.” He then when back to his room not wanting to hear any more from Jonghyun. The only thing he didn’t realize was, Jonghyun didn’t want to leave him at all. He didn’t want to end this relationship at all. Jonghyun wanted to suggest that they leave this place for good.
But Key didn’t give him a chance to say so.

His sleep was disturbed by the soft noises made by someone in the room. He then opened his eyes without a second thought and regretted it the next moment. The scene right in front of him was something he wished he won’t have to witness it at all but it was too late.
Jonghyun was carrying his luggage and walking out of the room. It was those clothes that Jonghyun left in his room when his hand was hurt. He shut back his eyes, hoping that it would wake up from this dream but it wasn’t going to happen at all. It was a reality he can’t wake up from. If love no longer exist in the relationship, it right to let go. It would only add on as a burden and Key doesn’t want to be his burden so he chose to let Jonghyun pursuit his own true happiness.
He hopes he doesn’t regret on his decision one day.

He held on the warm cup of coffee in his cold hands to warm himself up a little. It was already 10pm in the night but he was still in the office trying to finish up his work despite the fact it wasn’t really important at all. The main reason for working over hours was because he doesn’t want to face the fact he and Jonghyun was back to roommates. Without Jonghyun, he find himself no longer fears the thunder. The thunder roared again. He took a sip to warm himself a little before going back to his table and start cracking.
He took the cup of coffee with him back to his table, during his way, he spotted someone sleeping on the table. He took a closer look, to his surprised it was Jonghyun. Perhaps the reason why he wasn't afraid was because Jonghyun was with him this whole time, he can feel Jonghyun subconsciously.
“Jonghyun-shi?” Key shook Jonghyun’s body and woke Jonghyun up from his nap. Jonghyun rubbed his eyes, smiling like a puppy at Key.
“Oh. Key. Are you done with your work?” Key stared at his blank computer screen, he doesn’t really wanted to give himself any hope that Jonghyun purposely stayed back for him but his heart couldn’t help to feel warm. He quickly convinced his heart, Jonghyun doesn’t love him, he loved that girl. All these while those loves that Jonghyun gave was just for the sake to continue the show.
“I’m almost done.” A question was left stuck in his throat. A question he really want to ask but was afraid the truth would hurt. It was better off with just thinking about those possible reasons. It must be guilt, that’s why Jonghyun stayed back.
"It's okay, you don't have to wait for me. You can leave first." Key was saying the opposite of what he really feels. The lighting strikes once again. He wanted Jonghyun to stay with him, keep him accompanied throughout the lonely night but he can't selfishly keep Jonghyun.
"But aren't you afraid of the thunder?" Key then realized Jonghyun stayed back for him. Key then nodded slightly.
Perhaps he can just be selfish just this once.

Jonghyun offered to give Key a free ride home since it was raining heavily. This brought hope in Key, maybe there was still a chance for them to be lovers. Key can still see Jonghyun care for him. Due to the fact that relationship changed, words they exchanged each day got lesser and lesser.
Maybe they would reach a day when they don’t talk to each other at all.
“Kibum-ah.” He paused as Key turned over to look at him.
“I’m moving out soon.” Key nodded as a respond. His words were clearly telling him there were no more chances between them to be lover again.
Key-ah, please say something.
Looking calm like usual, but little did Jonghyun know there was disaster in his mind. It was blowing typhoon in his mind.
No… Don’t leave me.
“That’s great.” Key managed to choke out these two words from his mouth and turned his back to Jonghyun to hide his tearing eyes.
Please… Tell me you need me…
“I’ll be moving out by the end of this week.” Jonghyun added a little more details, hoping Key would react more to him. Jonghyun know Kibum was already crying but he resisted the urge to hold him.
Tell me to stay by your side…
“That’s great. It’s time you should go back and help your parent’s business.” Kibum escaped back to his room allowing tears to roll down from his cheeks. He never thought he would need him so much… It pains to hear him leaving his life.

He was having another coughing fit at night, he sat up and grabbed the glass of water next to the night lamp. He took a mouthful to ease the irritation on his throat. He paused for a moment as he stared at the water.
He was still doing it even though they broke up.
Why?
Whatever Jonghyun did was only making it harder for him. Harder for him to forget his smile, his care and his love. He felt lost, what would he do without Jonghyun? He had already developed a habit of depending on Jonghyun. He thought their love would last forever. Forever does not last neither does it exists.
He regretted allowing Jonghyun step in his life, leaving traces of his all over his heart.

Kibum couldn’t take his gentleness any longer, he can’t stop himself from depending on Jonghyun anymore. He pushed the lunch box to Jonghyun back harshly.
“Stop it. Stop all your nonsense.” Jonghyun looked at Key blankly.
“If you want leave, leave. Stop doing all these to confuse me. I don’t need your pity.” There was only frustration in Kibum. Kibum had enough. If Jonghyun didn’t intend to stay in his life, he shouldn’t do all these to make Kibum remember him. He shouldn’t selfishly stay in his heart, filling his mind full of him.
“Kibum, I-” Jonghyun never intended to leave Key. He really loved him with all his heart.
“You don’t have to explain. Don’t… Don’t make me hate you.” Kibum left without saying another word or hearing another word from Jonghyun.

That week ended rather slowly and painfully for the both of them.

Jonghyun really left, he took all this belongings and left. Not leaving any part of him back. Of course Key didn’t bothered sending him off, he just locked himself in the room, crying. Jonghyun was actually standing outside, listening to the soft sob from the younger boy.
His tears break him but he knew he broke Key even more.
This wasn’t what he wanted, this wasn’t the ending he hoped.
Perhaps there wasn’t a happily ever after at all.

It was a week since he left Kibum, he was starting to miss his voice. He was lying alone on the bed alone, his mind was still full of Kibum. Kibum’s smile, Kibum’s voice, Kibum’s eyes… He misses every part of Kibum. When did these feelings gotten so strong and unforgettable?
He lost his appetite, as no food could compare to Kibum’s cooking. He couldn’t lift his mood up, there wasn’t any motivation at all. It felt as if he lost the aim of his life. He laid lazily on the bed, not in the mood in doing anything. He needs Kibum to recharge his energy. He regretted succumb to his mother.
It was because of that, he lost the love of his life.
Even if he were to find him now, he knew Key would surely push him away without a doubt. There was no turning back
He heard the door creak open, he turned around full of hopes it’s Kibum.
To his disappointment, it was Onew.
“Hey, hyung.” The crestfallen look, it’s too obvious in Jinki’s eyes.
“Your mom wanted me to drop by and take a look at you.” Jinki stood beside his queen size bed. He then realized how skinny Jonghyun had become within a week. He looked so fragile and weak.
“Don’t worry, I’m not dead yet.” Jonghyun commented sarcastically.
“Do you… Have his news?” Jonghyun turned around to look at Jinki with hopeful look.
“After you left that day, he moved out.” Jinki could see Jonghyun expression changed even more devastated.
“But I know where he is.” Jonghyun face brightens up but then went down again. So what if he knows where he was, he can’t change anything.
“Jonghyun, I know you still love Key a lot and I can still see that he has feeling for you too.” Jonghyun didn’t look at Jinki.
“Really?”
“There’s too many misunderstanding between the both of you. The truth is, you mom went to see Kibum before all these happened.”
“…”
“Jonghyun, there’s still a chance for the both of you.” Jonghyun stayed silent, he was thinking of something.
“Why… Why are you helping me? Shouldn’t you take this chance to take over my place in his heart?” Jonghyun felt bad for thinking that Jinki might be rubbing salt on his wound the moment Jinki came in. Jinki only smiled.
“I can’t, it because it’s already full of you.”

Jinki drove Jonghyun to kindergarten at Dageu. Jonghuyn cleaned himself up and doesn’t look so shagged anymore. He was holding a stack of A3 size papers in his hands.
“I will tell Kibum everything and then I will tell him to meet you at the garden in this kindergarten. After that, it’s all yours. Whether if he’s going to accept you, what does your future holds. It’s in your hands now.” Jonghyun felt grateful to Jinki. Jinki would always be there to help him…
“Thanks a lot. Really…” Jonghyun eyes were getting watery. Jinki ruffled Jonghyun’s hair.
“Good luck.” Jinki then left the car. Jonghyun then got down from the car too, checking his image before walking to the garden. He stood in the middle of the beautiful gardern, different type of flowers were blooming beautifully. He’s not going to let Kibum leave his life anymore.
He waited patiently for Kibum, standing there holding the papers. After half an hour, he saw Kibum walking towards him. He raised the paper in front of his chest.
Kibum…
Kibum stopped in his track to read the paper.
I have been a fool all along
He didn’t say anything but Jonghyun could see Kibum was reading.
Loving you was the smartest thing I did
Kibum smiled a little.
To let you go was the most foolish thing I did.

“Will you love me again?” Jonghyun looked at Kibum, hoping that he would say yes. Kibum only made his way towards Jonghyun. He then hugged the older male tightly. He buried his head on Jonghyun’s chest as he cried. Jonghyun fondled lovingly with his hair.
The road in the future might be a tough and hard but as long as they are together, they can face everything.
