Today is not my day.
Yesterday, when I headed out to my vehicle to drive downtown to my favorite walking spot (ironic), I noticed a puddle. The puddle was spreading from beneath my blazer. While I was teaching my 3rd graders today, a bigwig at the ESOL central office texted the other ESOL teacher asking her to have me call her ASAP. (They had my number, not sure why they didn't contact me directly?) Why am I still awake?!
01. I received and signed my contract with the school district on Friday. I'm all official and stuff! I am still part-time (though I'd take full-time in a heartbeat if offered). Despite being part-time, because I'm a part-time certified (as opposed to classified) employee, I get sick and personal days. My pay is also every 2 weeks until mid- ( Read more... ) -
Today is a good day.
Since the school year started, I've been going a little mentally crazy with wanting a teaching job. I've been checking the local department of education jobs board daily; sometimes multiple times a day. The past couple of weeks were crazy for me, too. But I'm not. Le sigh. It's one of those times when my brain is just too active to shut down. No doubt I'll fizzle out in a blaze of exhaustion after school today. Which kind of sucks, because I have to get up and work at the hotel tomorrow...er, tonight? Geez.

01) Received my Praxis scores today. I passed! Hells yeah, I passed! I normally don't worry too much about tests, but this one was not what I expected from the coursework or practice tests, so I was literally freaking out about it. Today feels like a precipice.
01. My supervisor at work decided to push for me to stay full-time until the end of the month. Her logic? She wants to go to Kansas the second to last weekend and if I go part-time mid-month that will interfere with her plans. I feel...perturbed, about it. Due to a scheduling fubar at work tonight, I'm not sure how things will go. I dislike not knowing. Basically, my supervisor did the schedule early this past week (like Tuesday).
