We went to the DMV first and then the SSA Office. We had no problems doing it that way.
I didn't make an appointment at the SSA Office- we waited about 15min. You don't get a new card that day- they'll mail it to you. You will get a letter stating that you you've changed your name though.
I recommended the Roycroft Inn. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope you afforded yourself the Bridal suite. ;)
You take your SS card and your marriage certificate in. Fill out some paperwork and it's done. I believe you get a card that day. Then go to the DMV, rinse,repeat. It's really simple. No appointments needed. ( I kept all my documents to prove who I was before and after. For me it was helpful as I needed to change my name right back to maiden as he was outta there in 3 months. Batterer.)
