RSS and comics
Apropos my previous post about moving RSS feeds away from LiveJournal, I've been using my main domain to help myself track webcomics for a very long time. I finally decided to clean that up and track comics via RSS (especially since regardless of stated schedules, many of the comics are completely irregular with when they update, so I feel like I ( Read more... ) -

minor cleaning
I've been fed up with LJ's syndication of RSS feeds for at least a year or so, but I finally decided to try out Google Reader. So now I'm going to have to try to read LJ (particularly for the friends-only posts; otherwise I could simply follow everyone from Google), Facebook, and Google. Great. computers and games
I upgraded to Windows 7 last week; I was quite impressed with Easy Transfer, included since (I guess) Windows Vista, and how it handled moving files and settings from XP. It failed to transfer settings for Pidgin, Thunderbird, and PuTTY, but copying setting folders manually for Thunderbird and Pidgin was not painful, and replicating the few custom ( Read more... ) -

Had something long typed up, but I hate writing very introspective stuff and whining. I start at BioWare on Monday, as an Infrastructure Engineer diving deep into their branching and merging system. That doesn't seem like something that requires a programmer, but for reasons I'm not sure I can talk about... yeah it does. I will also be working ( Read more... ) -

fun stuff
misphit and I went to see Dethklok and Mastodon Friday night, it was pretty awesome. We haven't been to a metal show in a while, and I'm not much of a metal guy anymore; I love my old albums, but I just don't keep up anymore. The crowd didn't really feel like my people anymore - I identify a lot more with the industrial crowd I guess - but the bands ( Read more... ) -

work and other work
At work, we're still waiting to hear what (if any) funding we'll have to keep going. We're not having to wait on paychecks right now, it's not that dire, but I sure would like to know something. However, as long as the status quo holds, I'll keep doing my work and reading up on random technical subjects I'm interested in that might have some ( Read more... ) -

It was announced today that Dungeon Runners is going away, on 12/31/09. This makes me pretty sad, even though I don't have anything to do with the game anymore... working there and working with them and working for our players meant a lot to me.
