This is the second half of one of the better Mallory books. I have to say, it's kind of nice to not see Mal being dumped on by her parents and siblings all the time. ( Instead, she's dumped on by Alexis... )
I have to say, when I realized that there actually was a BSC book about Mallory going away to boarding school, I was really surprised. I distinctly remember reading one of those letters at the back of the book where Ann talked about how the idea of sending Mal away had been circulating amongst her and her editors for a long time, but they'd

Chapter 4: This chapter starts with " I knew before I even opened my eyes. Today was the big day. It was "The Day" at last." She explains how her room looks different without all her stuff. But then (of course) it gets weird. Now, I have read A LOT of babysitters books, and almost all of Mal's. But she says something i've never heard her o before.

Oh my god you guys, this was hard to snark. This was one of my favorites when I first read it - all because I was about the same age as Mallory at the time and holy christ did I want to go to this boarding school. Like Mallory, I was the smart girl who got picked on in middle school, so this book was like escapist crack for my 11-or-12-year-old
