Well, it seems we have two new roosters. I assumed that at least one of the Americanas was a rooster, but now it appears we have two. Theoretically, they were supposed to be all hens in this flock - it was not a straight run - but there are always one or two that get by the sexers. The other day we found an injured magpie. He was covered in goo and seemed to have been mauled by a cat, but was otherwise just stunned. We fed him some of the suet that I'd made for the chickens and, after a few minutes, he flew off and seemed fine. Well, today he was on the front porch. Uhg! I am beyond exhausted. We're getting a WWOOFer (who should be arriving sometime this week) and today Bob and I had to clean out what will be his room. Today was lovely! We had a nice brunch with everyone here in New Buffalo (I made a killer rice pudding), hung-out and relaxed, and worked in the garden. I hope that everyone had a lovely day, too.

This may not really be the last chicken post, but today I sold the flock. It makes me sad, actually, but Holly, the woman who bought them, was super cool and very much a chicken person like me. They're going to a good home! Craigslist is pretty damned cool, man!
