On day eight we woke early to get to Buena Vista.  Why?   Because it was the day of their big Pack Burro Race, the third leg of the Pack Burro Triple Crown. (And, yes, folks, there really is such a thing.)  Apparently, there are petitions to make pack burro racing the official sport of Colorado.

I've been busy as hell, but not in a bad way. Peter is here and I spent most of my two days off either working (and getting sunburned) or showing Peter around town. Being from Washington state - and having never been out of it - he's amazed by the sun and the landscape here.

Well, it finally snowed! Everyone here has been freaking out about the over-long fall (especially for the sake of the Ski Valley) and now the snow is finally here. Meh. Now I have to shovel for Bob. Today was lovely! We had a nice brunch with everyone here in New Buffalo (I made a killer rice pudding), hung-out and relaxed, and worked in the garden. I hope that everyone had a lovely day, too.
