So this weekend was Taos Pride. As mentioned in the previous post (when I was tired and pissy, so there's no need to read it), we were meant to volunteer, but our plans were thwarted by Andrew's broken truck and our own exhaustion. So this (possibly kind of crazy) woman comes into the store today.  She looks at me up and down, pauses for a moment and then says, "So you're a goddess, too... And very powerful!"  Then she smiles and asks, "But where are your bracelets?"  I'd neglected to wear any today so she pulled off one of hers (a very pretty hand-painted bangle) and gave it ( Read more... )

Cody and I spent virtually all day yesterday at the basketball tournament fund-raiser.  Believe it or not, it was really fun.  That said, it was exhausting.  The kids were cute, though, and the little brothers and sisters of the players were the cutest of all.  This one little five-year-old girl seemed to have an enormous crush on Cody and spent ( Read more... )

I love old films in general, but this really shows a beautiful side of Taos from like 100 years ago. The Pueblo still looks the same, for the most part, but watching that dog climb the ladder struck me as particularly awesome.

More snow last night!  We went to Sol's to brew beer (it was like a mini brew party) and it snowed the whole time. I wish I'd had my camera because the world was utterly gorgeous.

This morning, however, the sun came out and everything is extraordinarily bright. It's like being inside of the sun. If the sun were cold.

We will soon be leaving for the bar to go watch the game.  Midtown is having a SuperBowl party that includes a potluck.  I should be fun, but for the fact that I fear Pats fans will be outnumbered by Giants fans. As I was ill on the 6th, I entirely missed the opportunity to say Happy Birthday to New Mexico! Yes, on January 6, 1912, New Mexico was admitted to the Union as the 47th official US State.
