Our garden is deliciously beautiful.  It's amazing to think that a little over two years ago it was scrubby lawn.  Now we are overflowing with flowers, green foliage, young vegetable plants and sweet wild strawberries (the only food ready to eat).  Soon, I hope, we'll be enjoying the MANY vegetables and fruits we've planted ( Read more... )

I passed!  I am now licensed to drive on this narrow-roaded island.  Whew!  I absolutely abhor taking driving tests, but I got lucky and ended up with a very calm and friendly examiner.  Couple that with my calm, patient, and very capable driving instructor and my own driving history in the states and I guess I was well positioned to pass.  ( Read more... )

I woke up this morning feeling like someone had been driving mountain bikes in my throat.  Achy body? On a side note, looks like we'll have a real kitchen in a week or so!  Yay to that.

My sleep schedule is all off.  Kate is working nights and, unlike normal, I'm able to be there when she crawls into bed in the morning.  The problem with this and knowing I don't have work (and not having her there to go to sleep with) is that I stay up much later than I have for the past year and then sleep in late.  It's making me feel all weird ( Read more... )
