Crepes:

I finally got around to making some crepes. They tasted prefect but the texture was off. They were very rubbery. I was pretty disappointed, especially after I took the time to dice up strawberries and make whipped cream. They were still edible, and we did eat them all, but we didn't enjoy them as much as we had hoped. I will be trying again ( Read more... )

I am vain about exactly one of my physical attributes: my hair. Don't be fooled by the fact that I am willing to wash my hair with baking soda - if it didn't work as well as shampoo I would be right back to slathering my head with chemicals. Despite the fact that I have given up shampoo I am still using chemical-laden mousse and hairspray.

I assume you all have heard of the no shampoo trend. For the record, I refuse to call it “ no 'poo” as that is certainly one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. I thought it was a bunch of nonsense but I decided to do some more research and I ended up deciding to give it a try.

All things considered, 2014 was a good year for me: I finally found a new job, I was busy with my photography, we adopted a new dog, we went on vacation (though I never did get to go to the beach), I paid off two students loans and made significant contributions to a savings account.

I had to work 4 hours on Christmas Eve. We were pretty slow but the day went by quickly enough. While we were there we exchanged gifts. I gave each of them a jar of homemade peppermint sugar scrub and a $5 lottery ticket. J gave each of us a candle (they smell great and are very pretty). The other night I had a dream about my grandma's house. This is something that has happened every few months since she died when I was 12.
