Europe seems like such a weird fairytale place, even now, that it surprises me people actually live here. Everyone just seems so happy. Sounds kind of naive because I'm not seeing the Europeans who work in coal mines or whatever, but people on public transportation just seem generally happier than in New York ( Read more... )

I came back from New York reeling from several crazy experiences which have left me feeling mentally exhausted and physically fucked. I now associate New York with long falls, near-broken ribs, near-death experiences, OCD, felonious behavior, and claustrophobia. So much claustrophobia. Anyway, I saw two dudes get hit by a car like 3 feet in front of me about a month ago. Without thinking I called 911, told the operator the address, then was like "Sir are you okay?" and the dude is like "Yeah, I'll be fine". Met a Christian Scientist guy who did a holistic-medicine procedure on my friend. Which more or less resembled a dance in space behind him, and sometimes he'd tell him to "lean this way" or "move your chin".
