First off, Matt and I are okay. The cats are okay. The apartment, for the most part, is okay. We do not have power, have no idea when we might get power back, and have a warped door and damp spot on our living room ceiling. It's cloudy now, and when I went to get the mail, I felt some spitting rain. The wind has also picked up. Matt has to get his laundry out of the dryer, and then we're locking ourselves in the apartment. We have our little nest made by our bathroom, and I've scrubbed out the bathtub for water. If you didn't figure out from my post last night about Jim Cantore, the harbinger of destruction, being in Galveston, we are under the gun. Ike is forecast to make landfall very early Saturday morning just east of Galveston Bay. Matt and I are leaning toward riding it out. Back in Houston
We've been back since yesterday morning (MD Anderson and UT-H reopened yesterday, and I didn't want to get docked a day of work). The apartment was untouched.
