Ike post #1
If you didn't figure out from my post last night about Jim Cantore, the harbinger of destruction, being in Galveston, we are under the gun. Ike is forecast to make landfall very early Saturday morning just east of Galveston Bay. Matt and I are leaning toward riding it out. My right wrist and my sinuses are bothering me, and the pressure is dropping. Coincidence? Possibly.
We went and got supplies for the cats and ourselves today, including 14 gallons of water, and the car is fully gassed up. We have the sleeping bag ready to go in our interior hallway (right by the bathroom!), and I have to scrub out the tub to keep water in case we lose water. We may run out again tomorrow to get more water. Oh, and we have beer. Glorious Fat Tire ale. We are all set.
I'll try to update as much as possible, but we will probably lose power sometime Friday night or Saturday morning. We're as ready as we'll ever be for this. Eeeep!
