My best friend's mother (and consequently my second mother) is currently in ICU. Last night found a gathering of family including her husband, daughters, son in laws, her "second daughters" (i.e. me), ex husband and his wife, brother in law and sister in the emergency waiting room. Alyse and I took pictures today for our calendar. It was tedious but we got TEN months done, and have the easiest 2 left (May and August) and made significant progress on the whole. It's my own stupid fault that I acquired the codes. But it hurts and I want to get over it. Christmas Eve wasn't bad this year (granted it's still going on) but I can't believe it's Christmas and my heart is aching I want to be over it!!

I went to breakfast with Annette this morning. I adore her, but sometimes she cuts to the core. I take to heart a lot of what she says and I hope I don't hold everything as absolutes and instead just sincerely listen to her advice but make my own decisions.
