I wish you were here tonight with me.
Now Christmas Eve is over. I’ve gone to bed an hour ago but I can’t still sleep. I’m barely able to do anything else than thinking about you. I miss you. I need you. I need to see your smiling face, hear your heartfelt laugh. I just want you near me. I don’t need anything else for Christmas, not all those presents that are waiting for me under the Christmas tree.
I am not dreaming. I did hear something. I used to be a coward but I am not anymore, I don’t want to be anymore so I get up and came to the window and here you are throwing little stones on my window for me to open it for you. I don’t have to think twice.
I want you in. In my bedroom. In the warmth of my bed.
You didn’t say no you’re cold. You certainly waited outside for my parents to go to bed.
“Come here” I whispered to you when you’re lying next to me to try to warm you up “You’re crazy”
“Christmas alone isn’t Christmas” You shivered.
“I wasn’t alone” I answered before understanding.
You are always saying you don’t care about Christmas and all celebrations but now for the very first I understand you don’t dislike those, you just didn’t have someone who cares enough to celebrate them with you.
“Don’t cry” I was whispering kissing you passionately not caring if my parents would find you here, wanting you to stay here with me until morning, wanting more than anything not being an idiot, a selfish coward who didn’t dare ask his parents for his boyfriend, his lonely best friend to celebrate Christmas with a family.
“You are the one crying, silly” you growled while I am whispering in the soft curve of your neck that I’ll become someone better for you.
“I’ll be the best present you ever got Ezekiel Tyler” I swore to you and the smile you offered me will stay my most precious memory of you. Always.
