* Brushing Charlotte's soft hair before we left for a walk, and after I put a clip in her hair to hold back her bangs, she said, "Thank you!" in her sweet, chipper little voice.
* Charlotte wrapped her hand around my finger, and then I hold her little hand in mine.  She never lets go, not even to pull her unzipped sweater back up on her shoulders.

This afternoon I had a long conversation with earth_moves , followed by another long conversation with my own midwife.  I may be done having babies but she was there to talk me through contractions and catch two of my four children, so she will always be my midwife, as well as a friend ;-)

Thanksgiving supper was a success.  Roast turkey, stuffing, gravy, steamed baby carrots and sweetlet peas, baby greens salad with oranges and almonds, mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, and whipped cream.  I made the mashed potatoes this morning, let them cool a bit, put them in a plastic bag and 'piped' them into little mounds ( Read more... )

The daylight lingers late in the day but unfortunately, the hours on the clock don't expand to hold it all.  The days are whizzing by.  I want to grab hold of each moment and slow things down, soak it all in.  I have so much to say, so much to do, but I have to go to bed so that I can be functional tomorrow at work.

- a customer came for gas today, dropped some of his handful of change in the mud while he was counting it, handed it to me and asked for exactly $4.97 worth of gas.

Sweeping our new laminate floors - so nice to know the dust is going in the garbage, and not deeper into our carpets.

Wiping our new countertop - it perfectly disguises dirt and crumbs but looks beautiful.

Loading dishes into the dishwasher - knowing that dirty dishes are out of sight and the next time I have to touch them, they'll be clean.
