avoidance

All week I've been carrying around my NRP textbook and index cards, and I'm usually able to read it for a few minutes but then I go into avoidance mode and they are easily put aside.  I am way too easily distracted and as a result, I don't feel prepared for tomorrow's course.  I have most of today to review, then I'll be going out of town for ( Read more... )

I think you're right on with this - don't fight the nervous, be one with the nervous...
It's a totally appropriate response... haha I try to remind myself it would be weird NOT to have flutters about the big stuff (and the little stuff that comes with it).

I'm sending hugs for your NRP day. I was thinking about how nerve-wracking it would feel in that position - NRP with the "REAL HOSPITAL PEOPLE" as a little midwife is always scary enough... to be thinking of Abby... and to be doing it in the same hospital? Yeah. I get why that must be big.
