Roanoke poet Nick Glennon died yesterday after several years of struggling with kidney cancer. He was around the Southern Fried scene more around '96 and '97. I knew, liked, and respected him, but I didn't know him well. He was an exceptionally nice guy, that I can say without a doubt. He even contributed a couple of memories to my SF history.

Several years ago, in 1999, I attended Southern Fried for the last time. I was a member of the Chattanooga Team, despite living in Dayton, OH. I was the ringer...*snicker*. It's been a hectic last few days, what with the teaching and such. Wednesday was especially bad, as I had the Tater to tote around, and the evening commute to grandma's for babysitting while I was teaching the night class, then the commute back to pick her up, was rather tiring. Nationals report lists Dayton, after two rounds (all they're guaranteed if they don't make semi-finals), at 73 out of 73 teams. Team Columbus WB ranked 70. Wow, not the year for Ohio, though I forgot to look at the Cinci ranking...Ah, 63 for them. 34 for the new Team Columbus BP.

I asked for ideas on what to update you about, and got nothing so far, so I guess I'll have to come up with something(s) on my own...
