Ten years ago or so, I went to compete in the Knoxville Slam. It was an average Slam, nothing special, other than the fact that it was a ladder tournament. Well, anyone from the Dayton world, there's been a Dwyer spotting. He'll be attending the Southern Fried in Birmingham next weekend as an individual competitor. I'm thinking more and more lately about the idea of dropping out of Slam, at least the online part of the scene. Not anyone's journals, as they're fine, but I'm tempted to drop out of most of the yahoo groups, as they constantly baffle me as to why I'm still there. Can anyone Slam-related tell me exactly what happened to Pat Storm in New York? I know he passed away in 2000 sometime (I think that's right). What from? Who verified?

If I can't get anything here, I'll check elsewhere, but I hoped someone here knew.

New person in town called me last night, asking if there was still a slam in Chattanooga, as I'm still listed on the PSI website as host (it's been dead for, what, a year now?)...When I said it was dead, she wanted to know if I could recommend things to do in town. ...on the lowdown on what happened at nats. I got little tidbits from Victor, and a comment or two on a listserv or two (what did Sheba say?). I know ABQ won their own show, which I think may be a first, but nothing else.

I guess I could go look at the scores page, and I will, but I want stories, too.
