Mondays, Bloody Mondays
So it seems that Mondays is my day of the week to post, funny that Mondays are notoriously ragged on but it seems to be my day of Live Journal lol. So this year saw a very interesting if not devastating beginning and as a result all my well intended New Years resolutions were immediately postponed. With the record floods that swept the east coast my work ended up consuming my life for the first 6 weeks of 2011, but that is the joys of working in the Third Sector, or so I have been told. Hell's Fury 08.02.2009
By 8.30pm tonight 76 people have been confirmed dead, 750 homes have been destroyed, 330,000 hectares have been burnt out. Hell hath no fury like a Victorian summer. Here is some footage for my mates in the states/ UK. God Bless. -
Status Update
We woke this morning to news that the death toll had risen to 26 overnight although this is expected to rise to over 40 with unconfirmed reports of missing loved ones, I pray it does not. Edit: as of Noon today the death toll has risen to 35.
