Better late than never...

So this year saw a very interesting if not devastating beginning and as a result all my well intended New Years resolutions were immediately postponed. With the record floods that swept the east coast my work ended up consuming my life for the first 6 weeks of 2011, but that is the joys of working in the Third Sector, or so I have been told. So although I am busy trying to catch up I now have more of a life balance to do the things I intended to start in 2011 and this is one of them...

2010: The Year in Review

1) Where did you begin 2010?
Bendigo, Victoria

2. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
This is not intended to evoke sympathy since it was a really positive change but the thing I did in 2010 that I've never done before was end an engagement.

3. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't nor have I ever made any new years' resolutions, however I have this year.

4. Were you in school (anytime this year)?
Nope.

5. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my sister-in-law gave birth to my nephew Tyler Matthew.

6. Any new additions to your family?
I have not been cursed/ blessed with my own children.

7. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.

8. Did you know anybody who got married?
Yes, my good friend Bella (to Chris) and her sister and my friend Nikki (to Michael).

9. What countries did you visit?
None.

10. How did you earn your money?
By working at a Victorian VRC in Marketing.

11. Where did most of your money go?
On bills, lol.

12. Did you have any encounters with the police?
Actually yes, some windows were broken in the arcade my office resides.

13. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
Wheels.

14. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
September 14th, my nephew was born.

15. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Too depressing to mention, lol.

16. What was your biggest failure?
I have a very philosophical way at looking at 'failures' so I don't feel I can answer this, but perhaps to others not getting married?

17. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Illness.

18. Where did you go on holidays/vacation?
I had to take some holiday time at Christmas due to having too much and went to Geelong and Victor Harbor for mini breaks.

19. What was the best thing you bought?
A Car.

20. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My niece Alexis who learnt to walk, talk etc etc babies are facinating.

21. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Unnamed family member, lol.

22. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
New beginnings.

23. Did you move anywhere?
Yes, I moved home.

24. Where do you live now?
With my parents but not for too much longer.

25. What song will always remind you of 2010?

27. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Socialising.

Worrying.

29. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it with my family on the farm.

I got what I wanted which were silver spoon earrings embossed with the London coat of arms (yes they are silver tourist spoons but very good quality ones lol) made by a local jeweler.

31. Where are you spending New Year's? and with who?
I spent New Year's in Geelong with my sister and family friends.

32. Did you fall in love in 2010?
With my new nephew, sure ;).

33. How many one-night stands?
None, lol.

34. What was your favorite TV program?
Escape to the Country (UK)

35. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate, but I have reconciled some differences instead.

36. What was the best book you read?
Fanfiction.

37. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Owl City.

38. What did you want and get?
A car and cranium.

39. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Kings Speech.

40. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I had a BBQ with immediate family and I turned 27.

41. What would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Travel.

42. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
The ever shrinking woman, since I am on a health bender and have been for 6 months now I always look like I'm wearing clown clothes, its impossible to wear the right size when you are losing weight, unless your made of money I guess, lol.

43. What kept you sane?
Drugs.

44. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Matthew Bomer is too pretty for his own good.

45. What concerts/shows did you go to?
I went to Powderfinger!!!

46. Did you see any live sporting events?
Does local Football count?

47. What political issue stirred you the most?
Damn sure wasn't the election although it should have been.

48. What has been your favorite moment?
Meeting like minds at a dead boring work conference.

49. What was your best month?
November.

50. Who was the best new person you met?
Andrew.

51. Who has been your best drinking buddy?
Andrew.

52. Who did you miss?
My close girlfriends since last year found us infrequently able to connect.

53. Favorite Night out?
At the theatre in May.

54. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010: To listen and trust my gut instinct, only I have the power to know what is best for me.

55. What's something you learned about yourself? That before I wasn't that far off my true desires as I thought I was.
