I've been thinking about the gastric bi-pass (or banding) surgery again, but the risks are great and it scares me so much. I just don't know. Sasha called and said that Adie is now having a lot of pain, and is unable to pass any gas, or eat anything more solid than milk. So, they are going to have her stay one more night, and see how she is in the morning. I have to say I am relieved! she has walked up and down the hallway twice today, which I find amazing.

It was a long night. At the two-hour mark, I called Sasha and she hadn't heard anything. Finally, at about midnight, they came out and told her that she was in recovery. Whew! Adie and I got to talk on the phone. She is so scared. She went into surgery about 9:30PM, and it is supposed to take one to two hours, so we are just waiting. Seems ridiculous to be waiting at home instead of the hospital, but I know that everyone is right that I don't need more problems (from being around sick people). Still, it is so hard. tonight Adie is having emergency surgery. She apparently has a hot appendix and gall stones, however, they are not going to remove her gall bladder now. I wish they would -- it will only cause her problems later if they don't! I've had both surgeries, so I'm familiar with the pain ( Read more... )

I am so very, very proud of my eldest daughter! She is a COLLEGE STUDENT!! Finally! REALLY! Today she enrolled and started her first classes. Her major is something complicated but it means she will be able to build and fix computers and write software. And make big bucks eventually. This is her GIFT.
