11.95 miles in 97 minutes = 8m7s miles . I was pushing it a bit all the way round, and was starting to notice the "you haven't got much left in the tank" signs over the last couple of miles, but kept the pace up. I had a narrow window of opportunity this morning, and grabbed the chance to do a very gentle run. Turned out as a lovely 63 minute 7.2 mile tour round Trumpington, Grantchester, Haslingfield and Hauxton. This evening, I did a moderate pace long run: 15.15 miles in 129 minutes (so averaging 8m30s miles). Generally felt fine apart from rather heavy feeling lower legs; I think I need to get the next pair of trainers into action and run-in quickly, as I suspect this is a sign that the soles are starting to solidify ( Read more... )

It's harder work now to get a speed-up, but I knocked another 30s off today despite a vicious headwind on the outward half.
7:04/7:29/6:44/7:05/6:40 -> 35:03, or very close to 7 minute miles.

No niggles in the legs either, which is promising.
