bike fettling++
I'm now having to train myself to accelerate like normal again. My brain and body have both learned that any non-trivial acceleration results in doom, so it requires significant conscious will to over-ride this.

I've been ignoring my bike, due to having too much other shit to deal with.
The chain, chain rings, and freewheel/gear/hub, had all worn hideously, to the extent that it was only just possible by huge zen-like concentration to get up castle hill at all.

These LED bulbs (MR16 halogen replacements) are very impressive indeed.
Can't speak for long-term reliability (difficult to tell if 48 separate emitters is a good or bad thing from that perspective), but they're a lovely warm white and much brighter than anything else LED-based that I've seen.
The future is beginning to arrive ...
